Haffner’s, a subsidiary of Energy North Group, has announced its strategic expansion in Massachusetts through the recent acquisitions of Huhtala Oil & Propane and Concord Oil. With a track record of successful acquisitions over the past decade, Haffner’s is well-positioned for further growth in the future, according to the company’s statement.
As part of the expansion, Huhtala’s East Templeton office and its Mobil gas station offering diesel will be rebranded under Haffner’s name later this year.
In addition to the Huhtala Oil & Propane acquisition, Haffner’s has also recently acquired Concord Oil. This includes a gas station and convenience store in Acton, Massachusetts, multiple bulk storage facilities in Acton and Concord, and a home heating delivery and HVAC business serving communities in Middlesex County.
Mike Whaley, the owner of Concord Oil, expressed excitement about joining the Haffner family and highlighted the cultural alignment between the two companies. The focus on family, community, and safety resonated with Concord Oil, ensuring a smooth transition and continued reliability and service.
Headquartered in Lawrence, Massachusetts, Haffner’s operates 71 gas stations, convenience stores, car washes, and food service locations. The brand is known for its distribution of oil and propane, as well as providing HVAC services to nearly 45,000 customers across Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and southern Maine.
