The Propane Insider team
How do you market a propane company?
You market a propane company inside the towns the trucks actually cover. The work is a marketing department: local search, the Google Business Profile, listings and NAP, reviews, city pages, and AI-search setup. The aim is booked stops, not clicks. Propane Insider sells software. We do not deliver propane.
Who is this for?
Independent US propane dealers. Owner-operators. About 1 to 50 trucks. Marketing has been a side job after dispatch. If you run bulk plants and roll trucks inside a real service area, this page is for you.
Homeowners looking up a local propane company should use the propane company directory. This page does not sell propane. It is not written for a vendor selling into the trade.
What does propane marketing actually include?
Six recurring jobs: local SEO inside your service area, the Google Business Profile, listings and NAP checks, review asks and drafted replies, a vendor blog, and AI-search setup. Those six are the marketing department. A website by itself is not the department.
Local SEO here is radius-based rank tracking plus per-location work for every area you cover. Rank tracking measures position. It is not a claim that rank moved. Listings work tracks 52 directories per location and flags mismatches on name, address, phone, hours, and services. It does not claim you are listed on 52 directories.
For the Google Business Profile itself, this site keeps a dedicated guide: how propane companies use a Google Business Profile. Completeness of that listing is the job, not a map position.
Why does the service area come first?
A propane truck has a real range from the plant. Public pages on this site print a 30-35 mile delivery radius as the usual circle. Your configured area is the truth. Highway corridors, open county, and tribal service areas can stretch it.
Marketing that talks to towns the truck cannot reach is noise. City pages should be a city page for every town inside your configured area. We do not quote a page count for the dealer. The pages already on Propane Insider are ours. They are not a number we assign to you.
What does the dealer still have to approve?
The dealer still clicks yes before a review reply, a Google Business Profile post, or a vendor blog post goes live. A marketing department that publishes without that yes is not how this work is done. You keep the keys to the site, the profile, and the listings.
Review asks go to your own customers who opted in, on your say-so, with the opt-out built in. There is no review gating. Retail propane rates do not belong in public copy.
How is this different from a general marketing shop?
A general shop sells the same package to any local business. A propane dealer's marketing sits inside a delivery radius. The words that matter are bulk plant, service area, and booked stops. If the pitch could be reused for a dentist, it is not propane marketing help.
Bill Stomp ran 87 branch offices across 12 states over a 25-year operator career, combat veteran. He's since helped 200+ propane companies. Those numbers belong to him. They are not your record and they are not a customer's record.
No honest shop is affiliated with Google, certified by Google, or authorized by ChatGPT, Claude, Yelp, or the BBB. Those names describe products and directories.
How does PIMS run this as a department?
PIMS is the whole marketing department for an independent propane dealer, inside one subscription. It is not a will-call tool and it is not a click dashboard. The six jobs above are the work. The dealer keeps the keys. PIMS checks and flags. Review replies wait for a human yes.
We do not print a PIMS price on this page. Scope is quoted on a demo against your real office count. Start on the PIMS overview, then read what done-for-you marketing means for a propane company and what to look for when you hire propane marketing help.

ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Google, Yelp, Apple Maps, Nextdoor and the BBB are named here only to say what they are. Those are other companies' names. None of them are affiliated with us and none of them endorse PIMS.
