In an incident that transpired on the morning of September 4, at M&D Supply, situated within the 1200 block of Main Street in Vidor, Texas, a motor vehicle collided with a propane tank and gas line, resulting in a precarious situation that demanded immediate attention. The Vidor Police Department swiftly responded to the scene at approximately 11 AM, grappling with the aftermath of a vehicular mishap that unfolded at a harrowing pace.

The accident unfolded as the vehicle in question, traveling at a considerably high speed, was heading northbound on North Main Street. Regrettably, the driver lost control of the vehicle, and the consequences were swift and severe. The out-of-control vehicle careened into the confines of the M&D Supply parking lot, striking a propane tank with a force that resulted in a rupture, subsequently causing a gas leak.

The Vidor Police Chief, Mr. Carroll, who was present at the scene, reported on the incident and its immediate aftermath. Chief Carroll confirmed that the collision indeed led to a significant leak emanating from the damaged propane tank. In response to this potentially hazardous situation, the police promptly initiated roadblocks, initially restricting access to a portion of North Main Street for public safety. However, as the situation was brought under control and the risks mitigated, North Main Street was soon reopened for regular traffic.

The driver involved in the accident faced a series of legal consequences for their actions. Chief Carroll disclosed that the driver was issued multiple citations, with each citation reflecting a distinct violation. Among the citations issued were penalties for operating a vehicle with a suspended Louisiana driver’s license, driving without valid insurance coverage, and failing to maintain control of the vehicle under the prevailing circumstances.
