House Fire in Greenwood, Delaware, Leaking Propane Tanks

Four agencies were called to a house fire in Greenwood, Delaware, early on June 26, 2023, which was complicated by nearby leaking propane tanks.

Around 1:30 a.m., the Greenwood Volunteer Fire Company received an alert about a house fire on Oak Road. Upon arrival, firefighters discovered the house engulfed in flames. Additional support arrived from fire departments in Bridgeville, Georgetown, and Ellendale to assist in battling the fire.

The incident extended longer than expected for first responders due to two leaking propane tanks that remained on fire even after gaining control of the house fire.
