Summary
Homeowners are starting to ask AI assistants who delivers propane. This paper explains what a dealer can control, what nobody can promise, and a free first check.
1. The new first call
A homeowner types a question and gets a paragraph that names a few companies. A company outside the paragraph does not learn about the call that never came.
2. What assistants draw on
Assistants draw on what they can find about a business online: its website, its Google Business Profile, reviews and directory listings. None we know of publishes how it chooses, so treat this as a working view, not a rule. Clear, consistent facts are easier for any system to use than mismatched phone numbers, thin town pages or unanswered reviews.
We have no published figure for how often assistants recommend a given dealer, and we will not invent one.
3. The cost context
Bill Stomp, who ran 87 offices in 12 states, says costs are rising and that repeat office work can be automated and streamlined. CIAB's Q2 2026 survey found commercial auto premiums up 4.5% and umbrella up 5.3% while overall commercial premiums fell 2% (ciab.com/resources/q2-2026-pc-market-survey). An insurance-industry study from CAS and Triple-I (Oct. 2025) tied legal system abuse and related litigation trends to $231.6 billion to $281.2 billion in increased liability losses over a decade across all industries. Marketing is a job that repeats in a propane office, and few offices have time for it.
4. What PIMS does
PIMS is a marketing system for independent propane companies. It drafts Google Business Profile posts and review replies, writes blog articles for propane customers, runs text and email sequences, supplies newsletter sections the company sends under its own name, builds pages for each town served, and shapes content to help AI assistants find the company. Every message is approved by the owner before it goes out.
5. What it will not do
It cannot promise a ranking, an AI answer, or a number of customers, reviews or leads.
