Summary
A fuel company's website can take over three repeat jobs from the office: answering the first question, capturing the form, and taking the first order. This paper describes where the time goes, what a website can absorb, and what it cannot.
1. The cost backdrop
Insurance is rising in the lines a delivery fleet depends on. The Council of Insurance Agents & Brokers' Q2 2026 survey reported commercial auto premiums up 4.5% and umbrella up 5.3%, with umbrella rising for 35 consecutive quarters, while overall commercial premiums fell 2% (ciab.com/resources/q2-2026-pc-market-survey). A Casualty Actuarial Society and Triple-I study (Oct. 31, 2025) found legal system abuse and related litigation trends contributed to $231.6 billion to $281.2 billion in increased liability losses over a decade, across all industries.
Bill Stomp, who ran 87 offices in 12 states, draws the conclusion that costs are rising and that repeat office work should be automated and streamlined wherever it safely can be.
2. Where office time goes
Three jobs repeat every day: answering "do you serve my town," handling a form or message, and taking a first order. Each takes a person's attention. Each also arrives at hours when the office is closed.
3. What a website can absorb
- Local questions. A page for each town served, so each can show in local search, and a Google Business Profile kept consistent with the site.
- Forms. Every form fill gets an instant follow-up email to the customer and a notice to the team. LeadGuard on each build spam-checks forms and runs a daily test that the form works.
- First orders. Optional online fuel ordering on the site.
- Content. Blog articles written for fuel customers.
The company owns the install and the domain and can move it any time.
4. What it cannot do
It cannot promise a ranking, a lead count or a result. It does not replace the office. It shortens the wait for the customer and spares the staff the first, repetitive touch.
